NEWS from the ROTARIAN

In a one-night-only performance, violinist and polio survivor Itzhak Perlman will perform with the New York Philharmonic in New York City on December 2. Stricken with polio at the age of four, Perlman overcame great physical challenges to become one of the world's most celebrated musicians. Now, he'll help Rotary meet its greatest challenge - to eradicate polio.
Membership Retention Tip:
Rotary clubs should list their accomplishments on their Web site, says Mike McGovern, chair of the RI Membership Development and Retention Committee. "A Rotarian recently told me that her favorite meeting was the year-end meeting at which the club president reviewed all the club had accomplished during the prior year. She felt good about being a Rotarian," he said. Check Here for our club's accomplishments. |

Fines were meted out by Leslie for: no broccoli on your plate, those that didn’t realize it was Sept. 1st, who didn’t know the new Rotary Membership slogan: "Each Rotarian: Reach One, Keep One"; and what was on the cover of the June 1920 Rotarian Magazine – A Sailboat.
Vicky had a happy dollar for attending a relation's wedding.
From RI President John Kenny, who hails from Linlithgow, Scotland:
"September is New Generations Month – a time to focus our attention on our programs for youth and the role they play in shaping the Rotarians of tomorrow. Our youth programs – Interact, Rotaract, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, and Rotary Youth Exchange – are some of the most important programs of Rotary. I say this because of the unparalleled potential they have to influence young minds and souls toward peace, goodwill, and harmony."
